Tips and Tricks
To help your dog feel comfortable while you are away we recommend a few extra things:
- Bring your dog for a day or two of daycare before your travels. This will help him/her to be comfortable in a familiar environment.
- Crate train your best friend so they are used to having their own room/ space for relaxation.
- Turn a radio on when you leave for work or go to town. We like to play calming music for dogs while they are resting.
- Don't forget to bring your dogs food. Dogs are much happier when they do not get an upset stomach from a change of diet and environment. (There is also an additional fee of $5 per meal if you run out while they are here). Pack extra just in case travel plans get delayed.
- If your dog is on medications or on a special diet please type up clear instructions on how, when and what should be given.
- Bring lots of treats! Dogs love to get rewarded for good behavior and we love to encourage positive interactions. In addition, we play lots of games that require them! Soft treats that can be broken apart or are already in small pieces are ideal.
- Leave the bones at home. For your pets safety we do not allow any bones.
- Give all vaccinations at least 2 weeks before your pets stay.
- Keep up to date with flea and tick preventatives, give them at least 2 weeks prior to coming to our facility.
- Make sure your dog has proper identification.
